It been awhile

Haven't made a post for in a while so I thought I'd give all my readers out (down to 1 now that Matts away) an update on the life of Me.

The most important aspect, Fantasy Football, is really starting to improve. My one Ancaster league has taken a drastic turn probably for the better. This past weekend I made a relatively large deal, trading away Micheal Vick and Clinton Portis for a first round pick next year and Laurence Maroney. Maroney is a rookie RB playing for New England. He is a fucking beast, with phenominal speed, size, and skill. Right now he is in a RBBC with Corey Dillion, but he should be the focal point next year, if not the outright RB for them. Great prospect with this guy. It's a 4 man keeper league where you can only keep the guys for 3 years. With the draft and a few tades this season, I have set up my keepers for the next 3 years very nicely. Donovan McNabb, Joseph Addai (Ind), Mourice Jones Drew (JAX), and Laurence Maroney (NE). It's crazy cause I targeted all 3 of those backs in the draft, but I had no early picks to get a chance at them. But, I've ended up with them, and I'm as happy as a pig in shit.

My next big league, Trash Talking is a Must, is really turning around. After a very rocky start, my team SEEMS to be turning a corner. I've moved up from 10th place to 4th place and I am currently the points leader. This is huge, cause all the people in this league are my friends, and I talk a lot of shit in it, and basically my whole fantasy reputation is based on this league. I'm so close to getting all my players healthy. I've been waiting on a few of them since the draft, and I know if they can play on a consistent basis I will definietly improve. This is my favourite league by far.

And my final league, I have a crazy good team and I keep loosing every week. So basically I'm tied for dead last and I have very little hope of making the playoffs.

This weekend I hit up Matt's wedding. It was a great time. I had my fair share of drinks, as did Cal, and we had a great time. I found a date on the wednesday before the wedding. Which happened to drive Matt crazy, because I told him earlier in the week I would be coming stag, and than asked him if I could still bring someone. He made a huge deal out of it, and although I'm sure it was a little stressful for him being so close to the wedding, he pulled through and I got to bring a date. Which worked out great. But it was a great wedding, a lot of fun, and Matt and Jacky looked really happy so thats all that matters.

I hate Fantasy Football

Thats right, I said, I hate Fantasy Football. It's so freaking frustrating to me to watch football all day, know I have great lineups in and to get screwed week after week. Now this year, I am loosing in every pool I am in. I have almost no chance in 2 of my 3 pools to make the playoffs and that fucking sucks. I'm pissed, and I want to quit playing fantasy football, it's ruined tha game of football for me.

Ok, i'm not really going to quit. I actually love fantasy football. I'm sorry FF Gods, I didn't mean to stray.

Whos the birthday boy?

Well my good friend Matt finally hit the big one, 40 years old. Way to go Matt. It been nice seeing you grow up to be such a fine young man. Now i know your wondering what did I get Matt for his birthday. Well a sweatervest of course. Nothing makes that man happier than a freahly pressed sweater vest. Well that or watching the Lakehouse while spooning his soon to be master, i mean wife. Aswell Matt, congratualtions on the Bleeding Blue and Gold blog you've started. Very good blog, with tonnes of info and very insightful thoughts about the best hockey team ever. I guess that myth about wedding cake killing your sex life came a little early for ya, cause no man would have that much time to do as good as job as you've done with that blog if they were still getting laid on a reagular basis. But anyways, Happy Birthday Matty, hopefully next year your still playing from the blacks. But Cal and I will understand if you ditch us to start playing with either Gary and Joe from the whites, or if you start getting in on the game with Carl Fung, Andy, John, and Moishe.

Can i Rant just one time?

What the fuck is going on with oil prices lately. This has been a sore spot in my ass for the last year or so and is only getting worse. For those of you that know me, I run a business that revolves around the auto industry. For those of you living in a box the last few months, right now the N.A. auto industry is in some serious trouble. One of the biggest contributers to this is the oil prices. GM, Ford, Chrysler, are notorious for building gas guzzling machines and even though they now build cars that are right there with toyota and honda as far as mileage goes, they continue to struggle selling cars with the gas prices where they are. Now OPEC comes out and flat out tells the world that we don't want the price of oil to drop to much because they want to maintain their profits they have accumulated with oil prices up at the $78 per barrel price it was a few months ago. So they just decided to cut production. What? Cut production to make the price stay where THEY want it to. How is this even allowed, how is this accepted. I'll tell you how it's accepted. Bush and Harper are money grubbing oil people who suck all the oil producing companies and countries cocks. Harper, i'm speculating about, but Bush, he is one shaddy mother fucker. Although it's generally known what a shaddy character Bush is, i know he's laughing at the price right now because I took a great interest in this a few years ago and read a lot of books on Bush. One made a real impact on me as far as my perception of him. The House of Bush, House of Saud, is a book all about the relathionship of the bush family and the saudis. A basic overview is that the saudis have been planing for years to get another Bush back in office since Senior Bush left office. The saudis supported like 4 or 5 oil companies for Bush that he single handly ran into the ground. Each time W ran a company into banckrupcy cause he found no oil or just squandered the money away, the saudis kept giving him more money. The families are so tight it's ridiculous. In short this book outlines how the saudis basically gauranteed another Bush in office to benefit themselves and thats exactly what has happened. Along with Cheney, the smartest and craftiest person alive who actually runs the country while Bush plays at his ranch 3 weeks a month, the saudis are running the U.S. government. So know one well say shit when OPEC decides to cut production to raise the price of oil for no other reason than money. And don't kid yourself, this cut would have never taken place without the Saudis permission. There is absoluting no shortage of oil out there right now. Actually the levels are highers than they have been in 5 years, almost every country's refenieries are running at over 90% capacity with no problems. All except Venezeula who is bigger mess than anyone. Chavez has used his oil to try an win the support of his people by putting all the money into his country and abroad in an attempt to get a seat on the U.N. (which won't happen anyways). So if oil drops, hs people are fucked and he is fucked so he rants all day about cutting production. Now OPEC makes the announcement to cut production and in St. Catharines, gas shoots up 8 cents. THis just doesn't seem right. Texas produces tonnes of oil, Alberta produces tonnes of oil, althouh it is very expensive because they are making oil out of the sand unlike the saudis who just pump it striaght out of the ground, why doesn't this give us any pull in the oil world. I think it's because we are so freaking dependent on the Saudis and the other OPEC countries, and that shouldn't be, lets stand on our own two feet a little. All these oil prices are killing the auto industry in N.A., along with the worst people in the world, the CAW and the UAW, the auto industry is in trouble. When are these companies going to get it together. When are people going to learn that a GM car is just as good as a Toyota. It's a tough battle cause for years Gm cars were shit and horribly made, but thats a thing of the past. Cars at Gm are made the exact same way as they are at Toyota. I've seen it, I'm in the GM Oshawa car plant every week and The Toyota Cambridge plant monthly, same shit both places. Even the people at toyota say there's no difference in the quality, it's just that toyota is still riding the myth of GM cars being poorly built.
I don't even know what I'm ranting about anymore. Hopefully you got through this confusing blog. All i'm asking is why can OPEC do what they have done with no resistance from anyone. North korea is come scary shit, and the whole world reacts to that. Well oil prices being to high will get scray too. And will affect a lot of people for a lot longer than North Korea will (only cause i believe that if it comes down to it, everyone will just blow Korea off the earth). Something has to happen, new resources have to be developed, feul alternatives must become available soon, we have to eliminate this dependance to OPEC and to oil. It just won't happen untill atleast Bush is out of office. Have you ever wondered how much money the US govt provides to research of this, I bet it's not even 1% of the money spent on war and oil. why would they, it might piss off the Saudi's.

Thats it, i never rant again. Back to stupid stories of my life.

Crashing back to earth

After sucha promising performance in the Trash Talking league, I took a huge hit in my Tom Cruice Fans league. Another pool inwhich I made what I thought was some big moves last week, resulted in me putting up a whopping 40 points. I put all my money on the bears this week to cruch Arizona. Rex Grossman, Thomas Jones, and Musin Muhamed all Starting for the Glove Prince, and I put up 40 points. I went from 6th in the league all the way down to dead last again. I've been in last this year in that pool for 4 weeks. I have a friking all-star team in that league. Grossman, s. jackson, t bell, T. Jones, Larry Fitz, Musin, Plaxico Burress, Greg Jennings, Colston, Watson, Jacksonville D, a freaking all-star team. but I'm 2 and 4, and in last freaking place. I have all my positions with atleast one solid back up, I can fill a lineup every week no matter what. I just keep losing. It's as frustrating as not being able to take the fishes money on party poker. I blame the people at party poker for this misfortune.

So forget fantasy football. Time for the first post about Lost. Right now the third season has just begun, 2 episodes in. Although the first 2 episodes were not the best ever, it is great just to have the show back on again. I was going to go into huge detail of what I think the show is about, this and that, but I feel like I could ruin the show for people who haven't seen it yet. However, that won't hold me back. I'm going to catch this weeks episode, hoping for some big answers and I will spill my whole theory on the show on thursday morning. Cal, you can look forward to this one.

Just have to mention it.

I am going to forgo (SP?) the Lost talk because i have to mention the HUGE week i had in Trash Talking is a Must Fantasy Football League. In need of a win this week I made a questionable trade last week as I mentioned in the previous post. Well it turned out for the best this week. A few weeks ago I traded Fred Taylor away for travis Henry, and last week i traded Fitzgerald for L. Coles. Heres my line for this week before the Bears play tonight.

Hasselbeck - 27.6
T. Henry - 25.1
Tomlinson - 41
Turner - 0
l. Coles - 27.6
Furrey - 6.9
T.J. Whosyourmama - 26.2
Gould - yet to play
SD Defense - 7

Total 161.4

I crushed the guy I played by 60 points, and I still have one player tonight. This is what fantasy football is all about. although its only one week out of 13 weeks, it feels great to have all the guys come together for a week. I'm not fooling myself into thinking all these guys can produce like this on a weekly basis, but my deals are looking much better than they did at first. T. Henry was picked up when he was still rotating with 2 other guys each week. Now after 2 very strong weeks in a row, he has rushed for over 300 yrds and 3 TD's in a 2 week span, he should be cemented as the starting back. Especially since the Titans won with his great performance. Hasselbeck and the Seahawks have been underestimated by the media the last 2 weeks, but they got it rolling again and with Alexander out for another 2 weeks, he should be throwing all game long. LT is performing at the studly levels he should be. I can't tell you how happy I am that I took him first over all instead of Larry Johnson and Alexander. Next week I have a few guys coming back from injury and bye weeks, which should make it much easier to fill a lineup. I am going to be replacing Turner with L. Maroney, and Furrey will be replaced by Matt Jones or Troy Williamson. So i will be upgrading 2 spots next week, which should be a big help. As big as this win was this week, the worst part was I beat a guy lower in the standings, and a lot of the guys 1 game ahead of me won their games, so I might move up only one spot in the standings. atleast I kept up with them, since I now have a string of games against the best teams. should be interesting now that my boys a gelling.

I'm back!!

Finally back to the blogging. Some how, i have 3 blogger accounts, and I was signed in under the wrong one so I thought I lost my blog. Thanks to the good people at Blogger Help, i was able to rectify the problem and now able to provide my devoted readers (all 2 of them) with posts on a reagular basis. So heres a quick update of everything you've missed.

The most important aspect of my life Fantasy Football. You might ask, "Harris don't you have a business to run?" Well, Yes i do, but I have become so ingulfed in FF i'm having trouble focusing. I think i have a serious problem. On wednesday I spent the whole entire day at work trying to work a trade in all 3 of my leagues. Than i went home and logged onto my computer and continued to work on Fantasy football, while NFL network played on the t.v. for about 5 hours untill 9pm (I'll get to 9PM in a bit). As i sat there in a daze with my eyes practically bleeding from starting at the computer screen all day, I realized I'm addicted. I can't think about anything else other than FF. The biggest problem is I am having a lot of ups and downs this year. I won't bore you with to many details, but heres a quick run down of my big 3 pools. Trash Talking is a Must - I am currentyl moving up the standings after starting out 0-3. I'm in 7th place out of 12, which is one spot out of the playoffs. I just made a trade yesterday in that league invloving Larry Fitzgerald. I sent Kevin Jones and Larry Fitz for L. Coles and L. Maroney. I may have fucked up on this one cause today in the news Larry is going to be back much quicker from his hamstring injury than 5 weeks. The only positive i take from it was getting rid of KJ, who I sure will be a big bust here on out. Second league is the Ancaster league. I have been getting it done with my team of rookies and Portis. I currently sit in 6th place, which is the last playoff spot. I couldn't afford to loose anymore so I sold my draft picks for next year, and I was able to pick up Mcnabb and Colston. Mcnabb is obviously a great addition, and Colston is 50/50 to be good. Lastly is my Tom Cruise Fans league. I also started this league at 0-3. I'm now at 2-3 and moving up the ranks quickly. I just worked another deal in the league to replace Duante "the biggest bust ever" Culpepper with Rex Grossman. Rex is the biggest surprise this year along with the Chicago Offense, so i think I may have put the pieces together in this league for a championship run. Then again, I am convinced that a fantasy curse looms over my head. Every time a make a trade or start rolling, I get hit with some crazy injury that brings me tumbling down. So a word to the wise, stay away from Mcnabb, Grossman, Coles, Maroney, they are going to get injured and ruin your season. Pick up KJ, and Fitz, they are about to blow up.

Now for the most exciting news the past month. The greatest television show in history has started. Lost has begun. I will untill my next post to get into it because theres to much to talk about, and i have blabbed on about FF long enough. But whoever out there isn't watching lost. GET WITH THE FUCKING PROGRAM and watch it. So far just 2 episodes this year and I have watched both with my jaw dropped in shock at what is going on. I love this show.
